Norwegian Black Metal Documentary

Hello Everyone,

Disclaimer: I should have recommended this before, or during Halloween, because its pretty dark/twisted stuff. Be warned...

You don't necessarily have to be interested in Black Metal music to watch what I'm about to suggest. I certainly don't have much interest in the music--I don't dislike it though. Anyways,
a documentary called Until the Light Takes Us, has recently caught my attention. The film first starts off with all this talk about certain bands, and certain band members. For some time you will feel lost, like you're require prior knowledge of the world of Black Metal. However, after 20 minutes or so (maybe less) the documentary delves into the whole mindset/psychology of the band members; their whole philosophy, not just on music, but on society in general. The subculture is really fascinating to me, and I figured some of you might feel the same too.

As far as Until the Light Takes Us, as a documentary it's not all that good. It's jumps back and forth between things. Generally not all that organized.

ALSO, if you have a glimmer of interest, but aren't motivated enough to add it to your queue on Netflix, there is a mini documentary (available through youtube) on the person some people consider the guy who started the whole movement/philosophical side of the music. Here is the link:

It's a 5 parter. And it gets pretty interesting at it progresses. This man is quite an interesting character.

Okay... Hope you fellas enjoy!
