After watching The District and talking about eastern European gypsies, I couldn't help thinking about Gogol Bordello. I mentioned them in class on Monday, but I thought I'd put up one of their most popular songs, "Start Wearing Purple." I think the video is really interesting and Eugene (the lead singer) definitely portrays the unruly gypsy persona.
I think their music is great. Gypsy punk all the way!
Also, Balkan Beat Box was created by one of the ex-bandmates from Gogol Bordello. They are more into instrumental pieces, but they are just as awesome. Here's one of their songs, "Gypsy Queen"
