Turns out Eden Log is a French-produced, French-language low-budget genre film, and although far from a perfect film - I must admit I enjoyed it and found it quite stylish, not to mention impressed by the production design, and boldly untraditional pacing.
We follow a man with amnesia, who wakes up in a big muddy underground pool, and must find his way to the surface, discovering all sorts of horrifying secrets and characters along the way. In fact, the film plays very much like a very stylish, patiently-paced video game. There is very little dialogue, but that actually plays to the films advantage.
Maybe all of you, like me, tend to forget that European nations don't just produce art films, and socially-conscious films - they produce genre films, too, just like the U.S.
If you like sci-fi suspense, you may very well enjoy this movie:
